1. Introduction
VPQ is a sports video platform built for capturing, sharing, and celebrating athletic moments. These Community Guidelines define the standards for all content shared on VPQ. They apply to every user, every piece of content, and every interaction on the platform.
These Guidelines supplement our Terms of Service. By using VPQ, you agree to both. If there is a conflict between these Guidelines and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.
We wrote these Guidelines to be straightforward. If something feels wrong, it probably is. When in doubt, don't post it.
2. Content Types Covered
These Guidelines apply to all content on VPQ, including:
- Clips — recorded video footage of games, practices, and athletic events
- Highlights — compiled video sequences showcasing user defined key moments
- Tags — text labels applied by individual users to specific moments in videos
- Events — event names and descriptions created by organizers
- Teams — team names and associated information
- Avatars — profile images uploaded by users
- Athlete Profiles — biographical information and photos of athletes
- Interviews — recorded video interviews with athletes, coaches, or staff
Video and image content (clips, highlights, avatars, interviews) is held to stricter standards than text content (tags, team names, event names). However, zero-tolerance rules apply equally across all content types.
3. Prohibited Content — Zero Tolerance
The following content results in immediate severe action regardless of content type. There are no warnings for these violations.
Sexual Content or Nudity
Any sexually explicit or suggestive content, including nudity, sexual acts, or sexually provocative poses. This applies to all content types — video, images, and text. First offense results in an immediate 7-day suspension. Second offense results in a permanent ban.
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors. This results in an immediate permanent ban. We report all suspected CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline and cooperate fully with law enforcement. There are no exceptions, no appeals, and no second chances.
Extreme Violence or Gore
Graphic depictions of real violence, gore, dismemberment, or content that glorifies violent acts against people or animals. Sports injuries shown in normal game footage are not violations — gratuitous focus on injuries or celebration of harm is.
4. Prohibited Content — Restricted
The following content follows the standard progressive escalation described in Section 9.
Harassment, Bullying, or Intimidation
Targeting individuals with repeated unwanted contact, insults, humiliation, or coordinated campaigns to make someone feel unwelcome. This includes harassment directed at athletes, coaches, referees, parents, or other users.
Hate Speech, Slurs, or Discrimination
Content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin. Slurs are never acceptable regardless of context.
Threats of Violence or Self-Harm
Direct or indirect threats to harm another person, encouragement of self-harm, or content that promotes dangerous activities.
Doxxing or Sharing Personal Information
Posting someone's private information (home address, phone number, school, workplace, financial information) without their consent.
Impersonation
Creating accounts, profiles, or content that falsely represents another person, team, or organization.
5. Content Type-Specific Rules
Video and Image Content (Clips, Highlights, Avatars, Interviews)
- No nudity or partial nudity
- No graphic violence beyond normal sports contact
- No content depicting illegal activity
- No unauthorized recordings (locker rooms, private areas, medical treatment)
- Avatars must be appropriate for all ages
Text Content (Tags, Team Names, Event Names)
- No profanity (including the F-word and its variants)
- No slurs or derogatory language
- No sexually suggestive language
- No threats or violent language
- Keep it clean — these labels are visible to everyone, including young athletes and their families
6. Intellectual Property
Copyright infringement is prohibited. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share. This includes music, broadcasts, and footage owned by others.
For copyright concerns, see our DMCA process in the Terms of Service or contact legal@vpq.app.
7. Spam and Manipulation
- Do not submit false or misleading reports
- Do not upload fake, duplicate, or misleading content
- Do not manipulate the reporting system to target other users
- Do not create new accounts to evade bans or restrictions
- Do not use automated tools to upload, tag, or interact with content in bulk
8. Sports Conduct
VPQ is a sports platform. Competitive commentary is welcome; personal attacks, slurs, and threats are not.
Cheering for your team, playful rivalry, and passionate debate are part of sports culture. Targeting individuals with abuse, using slurs, or making threats crosses the line.
"That was a terrible call by the ref"
"Our team is going to crush yours on Saturday"
"Number 12 had an off game today"
Personal insults targeting an athlete's appearance, family, or identity
Slurs of any kind directed at players, coaches, or officials
Threats of physical harm, even as "jokes"
When in doubt, ask yourself: would you say it to that person's face at a game with their family watching? If not, don't post it.
9. Enforcement and Consequences
VPQ uses a progressive enforcement system. Strikes are cumulative and do not expire.
| Violation | 1st Offense | 2nd Offense | 3rd Offense |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harassment, spam, inappropriate content | Warning + content removal | 7-day upload restriction | Permanent ban |
| Sexual content (non-CSAM) | Immediate 7-day suspension | Permanent ban | N/A |
| CSAM | Immediate permanent ban + NCMEC report | N/A | N/A |
| Copyright violation | Content removal + DMCA process | Per Terms of Service | Per Terms of Service |
What Each Action Means
Warning + content removal: You receive a notification explaining which content was removed and why. The content is no longer visible to other users.
7-day upload restriction: You cannot upload new clips, highlights, avatars, or other content for 7 days. You can still view content and use other platform features.
7-day suspension: Your account is fully restricted for 7 days. You cannot upload, tag, or interact with content.
Permanent ban: Your account is terminated. You lose access to VPQ and all associated content. Creating a new account to circumvent a ban is itself a violation.
10. Reporting Content
If you see content that violates these Guidelines, report it.
How to Report
- Use the in-app report feature on any clip, highlight, or other content
- Email vpq@vpq.app with the subject line "Content Report"
What to Include When Reporting by Email
- A link to or description of the content
- The reason you believe it violates these Guidelines
- Any additional context that would help our review
What Happens After You Report
- Reports are reviewed within 24 hours
- If the content violates these Guidelines, we take action as described in Section 9
- You will be notified of the outcome of your report
- All reports are confidential — the person who posted the content will not know who reported it
11. Appeals Process
If your content was hidden by a moderation action, you may appeal the decision.
- Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who made the original decision
- You will be notified of the appeal outcome
- If the appeal is approved, your content is reinstated and the strike is removed
- If the appeal is denied, the original decision stands
Content that has been permanently removed cannot be appealed. Only hidden content is eligible for appeal. Zero-tolerance violations (CSAM) are not eligible for appeal.
12. Minor Athlete Content
VPQ frequently features content of minor athletes (under 18). Content featuring minors is subject to additional terms and protections.
See our Parental Authority and Minor Content Policy for details on:
- Who may upload content of minors
- Athlete likeness rights
- Content removal requests by parents or guardians
All other sections of these Community Guidelines apply equally to content featuring minors. Content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors in any way is subject to the zero-tolerance policy in Section 3.
