Getting Started

Sign In & Find Your Event

Sign in with Apple or Google. Find your event — if it's not listed, use the search bar. If it still doesn't exist, you can tap Create an Event to add it yourself.

Film & Tag or Just Tag

If you record the event, make sure you start and stop often — VPQ will reject videos over 3 minutes long. If you record, you can also Tag big plays right from the record screen.

Tag Only

If you are only going to Tag plays, make sure someone is recording in the VPQ app or has plans to upload video later. If nobody is recording, no videos will appear in your Tag Library.

Review Tags

Your Tags are organized by timestamp in the Tag Library. All videos taken within 30 seconds of your Tag will show up here. The number of clips under each timestamp depends on how many people were filming at that time. We cast a wide net to make sure you don't miss anything — this window will improve as we gather more feedback.

Share Clips

After you review clips, you can share them via text or social media. Select which method you want to use and follow the instructions.

Recording & Uploading Videos

Coordinate with other parents and fans to get the best angles. Film from 2–3 positions near the court or field. Start and stop between plays — videos over 3 minutes will be rejected.

DO
  • Coordinate with other fans for multiple angles
  • Film from 2–3 different positions near the court or field
  • Start and stop recording between plays
  • Upload clips later via Clips > Upload > Select event, if you recorded outside the app
DON'T
  • Film only from field or court level — these miss a lot of action as primary shots
  • Film straight through the game with no breaks — clips over 3 minutes will not upload

🏈 Football

🏐 Volleyball

⚽ Soccer

In-bound to out of bounds, 30–45 second clips — start and stop often.

⚾ Baseball & Softball

Start and stop with each pitch, end with end of action.

Good: Announcer box behind home plate + 1st and 3rd base cameras.

Great: Adds 1–2 outfield cameras.

Tag Moments & Events

Tags are user-designated timestamps on the game or event. When you press the Tag button, VPQ finds every video being recorded at your event within 30 seconds of your Tag and delivers it to your Tag Library.

Film & Tag

If you record the event, you can also Tag plays simultaneously. Use the TAG button right on the record screen — no need to switch between modes.

Tag Only

If you are only going to Tag plays, make sure someone else is recording in the VPQ app or has plans to upload video later. If nobody is recording, no videos will appear in your Tag Library.

Troubleshooting

App Will Not Launch

Check your cell or WiFi signal. If the app still won't load, use the mobile website at webapp.vpq.app — you can find your event and Tag plays there.

To record and upload later: record on your phone normally, then upload via Clips > Upload > Select event and choose clips from your photo library.

My Event Is Missing

If your event shows up on a friend's phone but not yours, try restarting the app. If it still doesn't appear, check your signal and follow the steps in Getting Started.

My Tags Don't Seem to Be Loading

Tags can take a moment to load depending on the cell and WiFi signal at the event location. Give it a minute and try again once you have a stronger connection.

My Videos Aren't Loading

Go to Settings on your profile page and make sure Load only on WiFi is turned off. Your videos will load once you have a signal.
